Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy is a non-invasive treatment that has gained popularity in recent years for its potential benefits in promoting healing and reducing pain.

PEMF therapy involves the use of electromagnetic fields to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes. It works by delivering low-frequency pulsed electromagnetic waves to targeted areas of the body. These waves penetrate deep into tissues, stimulating cellular activity.

Two Methods We Use

 IN HOUSE: At Balanced Motion, we have a Magnawave machine that we use for our patients. It is a powerful PEMF machine that your dog can come in once to twice a week for treatments for initial treatments. For chronic or long term issues such as arthritis, we can use the machine once a month for maintenance as part of a program to reduce inflammation and encourage better movement.

We also use the Magnawave PEMF many times while doing acupuncture. It helps stimulate the myofascial tissue while the needles are in place enhancing the effects of the treatment.  

AT HOME: In the past, we offered a portable PEMF device that a person could use on their dog every day. It was small, battery operated, and worked well. The one drawback was that it had limited uses, depending on the life of the battery that could not be replaced, as it was an integral part of the device. The device was not inexpensive for a throw away after it was used.  We still think the product is a good one; however, we have discovered a company that makes a similar device for a similar price that has a rechargeable battery!

We now recommend the PetsPEMF Pad. 

 This PEMF Pad is lightweight, waterproof, big enough to treat the whole dog but can also be used to cover over a specific area of concern. It has 3 programs to use, depending on what type of treatment your dog needs, and is controlled by, of course, an app on your smartphone.
